Be Aware! - Day 4

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…
John 10v10

Sometimes you are so tired that you just want to sleep.  You become almost oblivious to the world. In my past experiences, that has become quite dangerous, especially if you are a Christian.
If you read today’s scripture reference, you will know why it is important to always be in control of yourself.  The thief comes in the middle of the night to disturb you.  He makes his presence known by the dreams you have for example.
I woke up in the middle of the night one day with my hand in my pants and I realized that I was busy pleasuring myself.  It was so horrible, I was married and I wondered immediately what my husband would have thought of me if he saw me doing it.  I cried and prayed to the Lord for vigilance even in my sleep.  I rebuked the devil and it took me a while to fall asleep.  But God did bring peace that night and I slept like baby.
I could not believe the audacity of Satan. He came to disrupt my sleep, so I could pay a little bit of attention to him, in my sleep. He is such a liar and he is overcome by the Lord, our God who defeated him on the cross of Calvary.
So today be aware of Satan. He will try every tactic in the book to try and reconstruct your peace and your personal correlation with Jesus Christ. ‘…in order that Satan might not outwit us.  For we are not unaware of his schemes.’(2 Cor 2v11)

Prayer for today:
Dear Lord Jesus, make me double aware of the schemes of the devil.  I am in dire need of a Spirit of discernment. Help me Lord to be able to withstand his wicked thoughts and plans to snuff me out of this life.  I want to serve you and no one else. You are my God and I love you as Lord of my life. Amen.
